The date, 20th December 2025, weighs profoundly on our hearts and minds. It marks a year of Maneesh Media having lost its charioteer, its Founder and Chairman, Shri Chandmal Kumawat. In the past year, we have continued to carry his dream forward – and our determination has only grown stronger, firm in the belief that he is smiling and guiding us from the skies above.
He would always tell us that people are more than just the stories we write about them. They are the reason we exist as India’s leading diaspora publishing house. They are the heart and soul and must be taken care of and treated with the same respect we would our own family.
We realise that in the rush of everyday life, connections can be lost easily. And, in the strife of rebuilding, perhaps we grew quiet for a while.
For that silence, we ask your forgiveness. Today, we are rekindling that thread. With this fortnightly newsletter, we reach out to you — our global Indian family — to share milestones, memories, diaspora stories, and moments that remind us of who we are to one another.

The Hot Take from our Editorial Desk
When interviewing people for our latest project, one word kept finding its way into every conversation – Vishvaguru. It was almost an instinctive utterance every time India was mentioned. The term literally means – teacher of the world. And as one of the world’s oldest civilisations, India carries guidance, wisdom, and a civilisational memory in its very DNA.
For years, it has been a quiet force. Now, it has found its voice. India is at the inflection point where we can say its time has finally come. But how and why?
We attempt to explore a simple question with a powerful answer: Why is it India’s time to shine? And why does this moment matter to every Indian — in Bharat and across the diaspora?

Longfellow’s “footprints in the sands of time”— of the lasting marks left by those who walked before us and ones that we will leave for the next generation – are a map that shapes values and continues to guide us. Our father’s values have become our North Star, and we know that all of our readers have that unwritten code of principles they have inherited from their elders.
In that spirit, we have invited a few respected individuals to share a simple reflection for this commemorative edition: Three Lessons From My Father — three short insights that can transcend to become universal footprints and continue to shape generations.
Something’s Always Afoot…
Inside the MM Lab something’s always afoot. We are constantly brainstorming on new projects while working on several. Our current initiative is one that touches us deeply — both personally and as proud citizens of our country.

‘Panno Ka Parkhi’ – The Life Story of Shri Ramkishan Jajoo
This book, one of our early commissioned bespoke projects, struck a chord with not just the Jajoo family, but also countless readers. Even today, it continues to inspire generations and we often get asked to send a copy to a curious reader, like yourself.
If there’s an organisation you believe is making a real difference, write to us and share what makes them special. We’d love to feature them on your behalf.
Our work takes us to many places and brings us face-to-face with organisations that are quietly yet profoundly changing the world. It was during one such journey that we met Raj Gilda and Sunanda Mane, the founders of Lend A Hand India (LAHI), an initiative that empowers with dignity, inclusion, and opportunity. When our director, Manish Kumawat, witnessed their work on the ground, he was deeply moved by the sincerity with which young lives were being empowered through skill-based education. He shared, “Real change happens when people are given tools, not sympathy.”
