Late Shri Chandmal Kumawat is the reason why Maneesh Media exists. It stands on his vision and conviction in the power of storytelling – a force that brings the Indian diaspora, their achievements, and success together with global narratives to form a connection beyond boundaries.
Today, as India’s Leading Diaspora Publishing House, Maneesh Media stands poised to take his dream forward.
In Sanskrit, Maneesh is a combination of two words ‘Mann’ (Mind and Soul) and “Eesh” = The Guiding Light. Put them together, and you get ‘The Guiding Light of the Soul.’ This is the journey that Chandmal sir envisioned for the company – For us to relentless seekers, who gather and share collective wisdom through untold stories of exemplary Indians.
A dream that began in 1999 as a small Jaipur agency and under his wise leadership, transformed into a global publishing house, with offices in New York and Toronto.
For over two decades now, Maneesh Media has been leading the conversation on the Indian diaspora’s reach across the globe through coffee-table books, family legacy books, legacy editions, and occasion books.
Chandmal Sir would always say, “We are not here to compete with others. We are in competition with ourselves so that we can serve our readers the way they deserve to be.”
Guided by his principles, we narrate inspirations, documenting the journeys of extraordinary Indians at home and across the diaspora. Every book, he believed, should connect heart to heart—Connecting Beyond Boundaries, as he often said. Because he believed in stories, we dedicate ourselves to telling them—beautifully, truthfully, and for generations to come.

Our Father and Guiding light did not just quote these words, he lived them. And now so do we, as we walk in his footsteps.His words fuel the way we think, create, and tell stories. As we continue on this path of inspiration, we are also writing our own story, expanding on Maneesh Media’s journey.We meet people who expand our worldview, we uncover journeys that disrupt the Indian stereotype. We craft books that look special and carry within them treasures of wisdom and lessons for all of us.
