Building Positivity into Every Endeavour
The ‘Vikrant’ Factor: “Success becomes fulfilling when it is rooted in positivity and expressed through care for people, communities, and the environment.”
THE MAN
To seek a life packed with positivity, Vikrant V Purhohit has read more than 250 books, including ‘Whatever You Do,’ ‘Be Happy: 400 Things to Think & Do for a Happy Life’ by Julia Dellitt. He lives their lessons, weaving them into everything he does.
These books became his guides much later, though. Family was his first teacher. Born in 1961, he grew up amidst the quieter suburban life, increasing bottlenecks, and emerging ecological problems in Bombay (now Mumbai). His initial years were defined by his impressionable mind that learned compassion, kindness, and generosity from his grandfather, Thakorlal D Purohit, and methodology, technique, and tactics of the real-estate business from his father, Virendra T Purohit, a chief town planner. He absorbed the early academic knowledge at St Xavier’s along with his brother Milind, where their mother, Usha, was a torchbearer of knowledge.
The Purohit family moved to Gandhinagar in 1970 before he joined the HL College of Commerce in Ahmedabad, where he earned his degree in BCom. In his pursuit of knowledge, Vikrant earned certificate courses in human resources, sales, and diplomas in many other disciplines.
THE JOURNEY
When investing in real estate was not on the cards due to the 2001 Gujarat earthquake and 2002 Godhra riots, Vikrant went out on a limb and stepped into his new journey, along with his father’s guidance and a passion for innovation. Within the first quarter since the inception of his business, he experienced a turn in the tide when he won two cars through lucky-draw coupons. This win gave momentum to his goals.
After seven years of his journey in the business, he began a joint venture with the PSY Group. The year 2014 marked a new beginning when his children took over. Today, with their strategy that focuses on customer needs, they have successfully expanded the Vinayak Group that now includes Vinayak Lifestyle, Vinayak Skydeck, Vinayak Saral Courtyard & Gardens, among many more. Ongoing projects include The Avante and The Privillion, joint ventures with the Dev-Vinayak Group.
Throughout his professional journey, Vikrant truly holds close the opportunities that served as a constant push to expand his connections. His partnership with renowned people like Naresh Bhai & Dinesh Bhai Patel of Saral Group, Aditya Goenka, Kshitij and Dr Dilip Patel of Dev-Vinayak Group, Paresh Dudhia, Yagnesh Upadhyay, and Sri Jagdambaji Shah helped him learn valuable business lessons and nuances of operations that added to Vikrant’s professional brilliance. He is also thankful to the team of architects and other experts, including The Grid, VPA, and The Beyond Green Landscapers.
THE SPIRIT WITHIN
Beneath this achievement-oriented, unwearied, and irrepressible spirit lies a soul that believes positivity is a catalyst for meaningful change. As a community-minded business leader, his vision extends beyond property development to include a broader concern for environmental and social well-being. The Vinayak Group’s ethos reflects an emphasis on sustainable practices and long-term community value creation. In line with responsible development trends across the region, this sensibility is often expressed through support for green landscaping, tree-planting efforts, and community enhancement initiatives that contribute to healthier, more livable urban spaces. Together, these efforts underscore a growing commitment to aligning economic progress with environmental care and social responsibility for the communities they serve.
THE LEGACY
Over the years, Vikrant has established an enduring legacy, committed to bringing people and communities together. He believes that his success would not have been possible without Anjalee, his wife, a retired government employee, whose grit and intellect continue to inspire him. She holds a degree in architecture and has played a pivotal role in guiding Vikrant throughout his journey to success by offering unwavering encouragement and highlighting the way forward.
Jay, the elder son, holds a Civil Engineering degree from Birla Vishvakkarma Mahavidyalaya, Vidyanagar, and an MBA from CEPT University, Ahmedabad. A digital influencer and public speaker, he is a leading figure in real estate education and was recognised as Ahmedabad’s Most Influential Real Estate Educator 2025. He has taught over 700 students, mentoring 20+ individuals into real estate sales careers. A fitness enthusiast, Jay has also completed 30+ half marathons and 2 full marathons. Parth has also followed in the footsteps of his father. He holds qualifications in BCom, MBA, and LLB, and has been a real estate developer with a forward-looking approach to modern housing. Active since 2013, he has completed over ten projects and is a Director at Vinayak Group. He lives in Gandhinagar with His wife, Dr Mansi (PhD, MBA, and LLB), and their son, Shrey. Vikrant and Anjalee feel blessed that they are surrounded by family, who make it easy for them to nurture peace and happiness already within.
Vikrant lives by the Dalai Lama’s philosophy: “The purpose of our life needs to be positive. We weren’t born to cause trouble, harming others. For our life to be of value, I think we must develop basic good human qualities — warmth, kindness, compassion. Then our life becomes meaningful and more peaceful — happier.”
Adding to the thought process, Vikrant says, “As the first step, forgive the person you hate the most. Also, be kind to nature and all its elements.
Vikrant Purohit’s positivity is indeed an inspiration for all of us to strive for, personally and collectively.
MAPPING THE INDIA WITHIN
Bharat: Then and Now
“From being just a name on the map to transforming into a vibrant country and being one of the leading nations, Bharat has made remarkable progress! The dusty, narrow streets, old houses with tilted roofs have turned into wider roads, modern houses. Evening gatherings at a local tea stall or temples are now replaced by multiplexes, clubs, and malls. The identity of this modern Bharat includes rapid growth, tech innovation, and cultural exports.”
Bharatiya Values that Travelled
“My personal and professional milestones reflect India’s values like resilience, unity, and growth. These values have taught me to overcome challenges and bounce back from setbacks, and to understand the importance of community and working together.
“As Indians, we embrace diversity and hospitality, share stories of Bharat’s rich heritage, try local traditional flavours, connect fellow Indians abroad, and represent India’s spirit globally.”
Generations Abroad: A New Bharatiya Identity
“We pass down the values we have learned from our roots to our next generations. We share the stories of our ancestors, historical events, and cultural icons. Their Indian roots are reflected through their values of respecting elders and hospitality.
“Celebrating festivals like Holi, Navratri, and Diwali, cooking traditional Indian food, and wearing Indian attire, these habits deeply highlight our Indian roots.”
Pride, Progress, and the Spirit Of Bharat
“Bharat’s pride is deeply rooted in its ancient traditions, art forms, its resilience, innovations, diverse communities, cuisines, languages, and how it continues to contribute to the global stage with its impact on science, yoga, and entertainment.”
Dreams for the Youth and Future of Bharat
“My message to the youth is – Own your story, innovate fearlessly, and lead with empathy. India’s future is bright with your energy and ideas.”
