In a landmark spiritual and architectural moment, BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha consecrated a towering 108-foot statue of Nilkanth Varni at Swaminarayan Akshardham during the Tapomurti Shri Nilkanth Varni Murti-Pratishtha Mahotsav (25–26 March 2026). The towering idol, depicting the youthful ascetic form of Bhagwan Swaminarayan, now stands as one of the most striking new spiritual landmarks in the capital.
The ceremony drew national attention, with Hon’ble Vice President of India, C. P. Radhakrishnan offering prayers and seeking blessings from Mahant Swami Maharaj, the spiritual guru of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha.
The installation not only adds to Akshardham’s global prominence but also symbolises ideals of tapas, discipline, and service embodied by Nilkanth Varni.
