Gangaur is celebrated across Rajasthan in honour of Goddess Gauri, symbolising devotion, prosperity, and the well-being of loved ones. Traditionally marked by community participation and shared rituals, Gangaur reflects the spirit of coming together for collective good.
Rajasthani diaspora across the world not only celebrate this festival to preserve their tradition and culture but also use it as a platform to create social impact.
Recently one such celebration was transformed into a meaningful act of giving, as an individual-led fundraising initiative supported the William Osler Health System Foundation. Hosted by Rashi Bajaj, the gathering brought together friends and family with a shared purpose—raising funds to support healthcare services, medical infrastructure, and patient care within the Osler Health System. Part of a broader “DIY” fundraising model, the initiative reflects a growing trend where individuals are using personal milestones to mobilise their networks and contribute to critical causes. Such grassroots efforts play an important role in strengthening healthcare systems by enabling access to better facilities and life-saving resources.
