It was a great show of philanthropy and community spirit at a recent gathering organised by Shree Mahavir Jain Vidyalaya (SMJV) USA Inc. at Jay Bharat Restaurant in the United States.
The event brought together SMJV alumni, donors, supporters, and community leaders to celebrate the institution’s expanding educational mission and honour key contributors to Jain student welfare. The programme opened with remarks by Dr. Jasvant Modi, who emphasised the importance of supporting Jain educational institutions and preserving values-driven learning. One of the evening’s highlights was the recognition of major donors supporting hostel infrastructure projects in Surat.
Dr. Jasvant Modi and Smt. Meeraben Modi were honoured for their ₹13 crore contribution toward the Surat Girls Hostel, while Shri Sudhirbhai and Dr. Dakshaben Kapadia were recognised for their ₹18 crore support for the Surat Boys Hostel. Trustee Shri Alpesh Gandhi presented an overview of SMJV’s educational initiatives and ongoing development projects across India, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to student welfare and community development. The event concluded with a renewed commitment toward empowering future generations through education, philanthropy, and shared community values.
