A recent gathering organised by Shree Mahavir Jain Vidyalaya (SMJV) USA Inc. at Jay Bharat Restaurant in the United States became a heartfelt celebration of gratitude, memory, and community responsibility.
The event brought together SMJV alumni, supporters, and community leaders whose lives have been deeply shaped by the institution. Many of them once came to SMJV with very little — limited means, uncertain futures, and the quiet hope that education could change their lives. SMJV gave them more than a place to study. It gave them shelter, guidance, discipline, values, and the confidence to build a future.
Years later, many of those very students have returned as successful professionals, entrepreneurs, and community leaders, determined to ensure that other young Jain students receive the same support that once transformed their own lives.
At the heart of the evening was Dr. Jasvant Modi, whose leadership and commitment continue to inspire the wider Jain community. He encouraged alumni and well-wishers to see giving not as an act of obligation, but as a sacred cycle — one generation lifting the next. His message was clear: those who have benefited from institutions like SMJV carry a special responsibility to help the next student rise.
Throughout the gathering, the spirit was not of individual recognition but collective gratitude. Alumni, donors, trustees, and supporters came together to strengthen SMJV’s educational mission through donations, guidance, mentorship, and continued community involvement.
