Anita arrived in the United States in 1981 to pursue doctoral studies at the University of Cincinnati. She was the first girl from her neighbourhood to go abroad for higher studies, carrying with her a family’s faith and her own appetite for discovery.

Her early professional journey began with TAK Automation, where she worked as a software librarian. That experience opened a pathway into computing and technology at a time when the industry itself was rapidly changing.

At NASA Ames, she worked in an environment powered by advanced systems and ambitious research. Later, at Hewlett Packard and Agilent Technologies, she took on leadership roles that gave her international exposure and helped her understand how technology, people and markets come together.

From India To The US

Anita’s roots are tied to Karachi, united India, and her birthplace is Godhra, Gujarat. Her life story reflects movement, adaptation and persistence across geographies and cultures.

Her decision to travel abroad for education was bold for its time. It shaped not only her career but also the confidence with which she later navigated corporate America and the technology sector.
