The morning of 18 February 2026 began with preparation for our very first Industry-Academia Knowledge Session. It was a specially curated experience for college students, providing them an open platform to connect with industry experts. The pre-event atmosphere was one of buzzing conversations, tea and snacks, and definitely palpable excitement. 

The Main Event

Once underway, the session flowed seamlessly under the steady moderation by KV Kumar, Founding Chairman Emeritus of the Indian American International Chamber of Commerce (IAICC), who guided the conversation with insight and balance. Dr Lalit K Panwar, former Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Tourism, highlighted tourism as a powerful growth sector and outlined structured pathways for skill development and youth employment. 

Dr Randeep Suneja, renowned interventional cardiologist and Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Medical Director of the Cardiology Center of Houston, emphasised discipline, health, and sustained professional growth.

From California, David Munger, Partner at Munger Farms and associated with Naturipe Farms, offered valuable perspectives on horticulture, scalable agribusiness, and global agricultural value chains. Representing India’s startup ecosystem, Nikita Kumawat, Co-Founder of Brandswork Technologies Pvt. Ltd., spoke about artificial intelligence, innovation-led economic growth, and the expanding role of young entrepreneurs in shaping future industries. Together, their insights transformed the programme into a meaningful exchange of ideas, demonstrating how cross-sector collaboration can open new pathways for the next generation.

Students – The True Force

What truly elevated the session was the student participation. Curious hands shot up across the hall, thoughtful questions followed, and the event quickly transformed into a lively exchange rather than a one-way lecture. Students listened intently, took notes, and engaged directly with experts—validating the purpose of the initiative.

As the formal session concluded, the atmosphere eased into a warm networking lunch. Conversations continued over shared meals, photographs captured memorable moments, and the organizing team finally paused to absorb the success of the morning.

From early coordination and last-minute surprises to inspiring discussions and meaningful connections, the Industry–Academia Knowledge Session proved that behind every seamless event lies teamwork, quick thinking, and genuine passion.
