September brings with it a beautiful mosaic of Sanatan traditions. From Janmashtami to Ganesh Chaturthi, where faith, art and community come alive; from Hartalika Teej, Rishi Panchami and Vishwakarma Puja and the remembrance of our ancestors, Sanatan traditions invite us to pause, reflect, renew and reconnect.
Alongside them, the Jain observances of Paryushan and Samvatsari, and the celebrations of Sikh, Muslim, Christian and Jewish communities, remind us that India's cultural and spiritual thread finds many paths through which people find meaning.
Each finds its way across borders while creating new spaces for connection.
It is no less than a spiritual quest for us to find extraordinary people and bring to light their journeys, achievements and values that connect India to the world.
With our second edition of Jewels of India – Bharat Ki Shaan, Bharat Ka Abhiman, we continue our mission through meaningful conversations, relationships and collaborations, celebrating the many threads that together make the Indian story so vibrant.

What makes a woman give up the familiarity of her surroundings for the unknown vastness? Armed only with her faith and an unshakeable commitment to serve, this saintly woman once faced a gun-wielding man threatening her deportation, not flinching once. And she has been on her unwavering mission of spreading peace, come what may.
She left her conservative yet comfortable family in Madras to fly alone to an unknown country – all for the man she was meant to be with. She traded comfort for courage, tradition for adventure. But nothing dimmed her spirit as she created a space for herself and has along the way built a vibrant community that would preserve Indian culture for generations to come.
